I had to come back and read the blog again. I am having a "i miss scouts" day.

I don't know who came up with the idea for Blue and Gold but it was such a good one!! and I also love that this was the only rule:

"Each family is asked to decorate a dessert, so if you have more than one Scout, have them work on it together"

I'm glad i got to be a part of the design process.
cuz if i wasn't allowed to have anything to do with it...um, it might have ended up looking like a couple of logs with pooh piled on it.

I do have to say...I think your boys are way awesome cuz they didn't need help from the family...they did it by themselves...way to go haley boys!!

This was such a fun family project...we are going to do another cake decorating night as a family. But this time when I am off bedrest so I can at least teach them to bake a homemade cake. It will be a fun family night activity.
and at least then, they can pass off a cooking achievment in the scout book.

Trish you are too nice but I can't take credit...this was the easiest cake ever made.

store bought pound cake
store bought frosting
store bought brownies from the bakery
and 1 box of fruit roll ups.

the boys loved seeing these few random items come alive as they iced, scraped and shaped.

I loved it even more that it didn't take more then 15 min.

H. came up with the dirt and ash idea with the brown sugar/ smashed oreos...BRILLIANT!

Thanks again for posting about it Trish!

LOVE susie QT

I knew you would like seeing and hearing a bit about it. I didn't cover everything, but I wanted to keep it short and sweet. We miss you, too!
