Oh, and the Bourne books are better than the movies just because the books are always better. More info… more use of your own imagination… more emotion… just. more.

Sarah’s at the Movie Tavern right now watching it with her friends for a birthday party… I’m so excited to see what she thinks. She’ll probably love it.

Susie, you knew about Kristen and Betty (and Juli is Kristen’s little sister), so it’s not like I’m cheating on you by wishing I could have gone with them… if you and I both had gone with them, you would have the desire to read the books. OK, not read, but get the books on CD and listen. Holy moly, even listening to the books on CD would be better than the movie. Anyway, these BFFs… they’re special—I-could-show-up-unannounced-and-eat-out-of-their-pantry-special—but it doesn’t mean that I felt stuck with you. I’m happy that you came and it was fun to be with you even though you didn’t enjoy it. And furthermore, we could have been in the picture with the hot security guard!

I don’t blame you for not feeling it… but I am going to keep badgering you about listening to it on CD.

i do think that if they would have made the movie less geared for JUST those that read it….then i think they would have an even bigger success with the books and even movies to come.

how sad, cuz all i heard about the books is how good they are.

well trish, i’m sorry you were stuck with us, and not your friends from cal…

i DIDN’T read the books…and i DIDN’T enjoy the movie.

i just thought it was written with so many inside jokes…it’s like they made it only for those who read it.
the audience was bursting into screams like every 2 min. and for what, a glance, a smile, someone bumping into something, or someone…i didn’t get it.
your reply was…”oh, you had to read the book”
well that disappoints me, because…hey i didn’t read the jason bourne books, yet, that series…is prob one of my very favorite series’
i also agree that this movie looks like it has an exrtemely LOW budget.
all in all…i have even less desire to read the books, so SORRY twi fans…i’m not feeling it!

Yay! Everything is okay… I went expecting the worse and yes did notice some of the things you mentioned… but, I still loved it and I am offically back in love with Edward. I took a friend who hadn’t read the books and now she is hooked.

My thoughts exactly. I do blame the director for some of what seemed to be bad acting. I’m hoping not all those that were lame are not actually that bad at acting. I’m surprised that with how big of a hit the book has been, more was not put into getting a good director and makeup, etc. I could only laugh at how goofy that running and shooting up the tree looked. Opening the newspaper this morning, I read a great assessment of Carlisle. It said he “wears such a thick schmear of ghoulish white face-paint he looks like he crashed into a bagel.” So, in my opinion, this should be dropped to the rental or even made-for-tv list.

Thanks, Juli, for getting me and not hating. I didn’t see Stephenie Meyer in the cafe, but I’ll pay attention when I watch this again. I need to see it again with the sound working. I wish I could have been with you guys in a theater that worked. I agree, books are the way to go.

Trish, this review wasn’t nearly as bas as I was expecting. I loved every minute of the movie, but I can totally see where you are coming from.

I loved Alice too. She did great and I hope to see more of her in the next one.

Make-up? Eh. And I did see the contact lens in the eye shot. I figured I spent so many years woking in that field, I just notice those things. Carlisle did creep me out a little. But more so because I can’t picture Mr. Jenny Garth without dark hair.

Did you see Stephenie Meyer in the cafe? She was eating at the counter while Bella walked in one day.

Bottom line? Just read the book, it’s always better.

I knew you would love it, Betty… no doubt whatsoever… plus, you had REALLY great company. Maybe if the sound quality was there I could have looked past the make up… but like Gwen says, “Magic’s in the Make Up”.

Trish!!! I Loved it! I looked past the make up. I don’t know why I loved it, I just did. I loved Edward brought to life. No person could be what the book described. Rob was great. That smile…. Kristen, Julie and I were screaming right along with the teenagers…but for the most part, our theater was silent. It was great and I can’t wait to see it again. Sorry you are disappointed.
